A beguiling and bewitching read.
“Be wary of men with something to prove.”
~ The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
Evelyn Hugo is a huge celebrity, still commanding mystique in her reclusive retirement. Monique Grant is a little-known writer with Vivante Magazine. So why is Hugo choosing her to write the highly sought-after tell-all biography, that includes the scoop on her seven husbands?
Weaving past into present, and spanning decades, Taylor Jenkins Read’s enticing, well-written story of scandal and human drama hooked me from page one. The short, cliffhanger chapters and intriguing plot make this a fast and bing-worthy read filled with fabulous aphorisms on life.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a devilishly seductive and addictive read is a good fit for lovers of celebrity biographies and reality shows.
Although, also well written and plotted, and recommended by me, don’t confuse this title with Stuart Turton’s The 71/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.
